created thru the communication between the wood and the
artist.
One of the challenges of turning
wood, is to take the most awkward and abnormally shaped piece of
wood and calculate the best angle to mount it on the lathe. It is
truly satisfying when the wood transforms into an exquisite piece of
unique art.
The smoothness of the wood is
achieved by applying several coats of hand rubbed tung oil followed
by a final buff wax finish.
Ever since Kevin was a young boy, he
has been building things with wood. It started with a tree house at
age 7 and then progressed to roll top desks at age 18.
He is recognized as a quality craftsman in creating custom
traditional and rustic lodge furniture and transforming wood into
turned art which enables you to bring the beauty of the outside in. |
His
turnings may be found in numerous
galleries in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
