I took a leap of faith,
embraced my life's journey and reframed my focus from elementary
educator to full time artist in 2006. I live in awe,
surrounded by beauty and am grateful that clay cooperates and allows
me to give it form and purpose. Conscious of the rhythm of my
motions and the current of the surface, I like to create simple
pleasures for both the eyes and hands. Inspired by nature and
its infinite palate, I create with love in my heart and always
strive to do my best.
I
have a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Master of Arts in Teaching
degrees from Arizona State and Towson University respectively.
I apprenticed at the Carwile-Dodson Studio for Pottery Instruction
and continue to broaden my skills by reading everything I can get my
hands on, learning from people that I admire and experimenting.
All
pieces are handmade with care, by me, in my studio nestled in the
mountains of western North Carolina. Often, while wearing
pajamas.
